A question of "do handwritten cards still have value in this digital age?" often pertains to two main groups of people- those who want to preserve past ideals and those who want to erase it. In my opinion, past ideals need to be preserved and handwritten cards are one of them. The overall tangible aspect of receiving a card written by anyone is much more than a gift in itself that will make anyone feel the urge to keep it and that very urge is because there is a sense of warmth within thought that is not felt digitally very often. Physical cards can allow humanity to shine because people tend to feel grateful for a hard copy of someone showing their care and digital writings won't always be authentic, as no one really is "laughing out loud" when sending "LOL" in response. In today's world of technology surfacing, it is crucial for people to hold onto the simple things in life that may be insignificant to some but highly significant to others, such as the importance of physical cards representing effort. For example, someone is more likely to forgive another if the apology is written out because it illustrates that they will go to all extents, even if it means horrible handwriting will be spotlighted. We all know that shooting someone a text is considered the bare minimum of effort and loses it's factor of meaning based on the tendency to be ultimately superficial, therefore, no matter how much of an inconvenience it can be to physically write something, the actions of giving a tangible copy of your love for someone will mean more than an effortless pit of technology. A handwritten note holds deep and genuine aspects that digital occupancy cannot capture.

Great post, Emily!! :D I totally agree! Handwritten notes really do hold lots of depth and genuine aspects that you cannot feel online. Handwritten cards hold so much more value and emotions and the overall gesture of a card is just so much more thoughtful than a digital card could ever be. Great job!! :)
