At this time in society, technology is a big aspect of our daily lives, whether it is going on social media or watching Netflix, depending on the context, being on your phone while others are with you can be rude.
Being on your phone can hurt your friends or family members’ feelings because they may feel ignored or as if they do not matter. Personally, I have been on my phone when with friends however, I always make sure to include the people I am with in anything I am doing. I also try not to be on my phone as much when with friends or family because of how it can affect others.
Feelings wise, I can see how it can be hurtful or annoying when a friend is on their phone constantly while you are hanging out with them. However, some people believe that as long as you are being included, being on phones while together should not matter.
I know some friends in the past who I’ve had deep conversations with, and instead of listening, they decided to go on their phone and ignore me. When spending quality time with someone, being on your phone no matter what is extremely rude.
I believe that if you are actively having a conversation in person, you should not be on your phone.

ReplyDeleteVivian, great post! I totally agree with your statement and claim. I also believe that being on your phones while with other people is very rude and can make someone feel uncomfortable, out of place, or ignored. Very excellent points were made! :D
