For the joy in my mind, I think of Phil Dunphy from Modern Family. While he is some things I am not, like a parent, realtor, and more, his true personality is what I relate to the most. He is a child at heart and while he can be immature at some moments, he lives his lifestyle to the fullest and is always a positive influence on everyone around him, much like me. I strive to live my life to the fullest and gain as many positive experiences as I can and to create happiness, laughter, and memories for those around me.
SADNESS- Mr. Krabs from Spongebob SquarePants
For Sadness in my mind, I think of Mr. Krabs from the tv show Spongebob SquarePants. Mr. Krabs is portrayed as an overall even tempered person, he is not abnormally sad or upset unless it comes to money. While Mr. Krabs does not have the best qualities, I relate to him because one of the reasons I get upset and sad is when I do not have money. Mr. Krabs is an extremely greedy character and his one true love has always been money. While my feelings for money is not even close to that extreme, I get upset when my work does not pay me on time or the amount I should be paid, due to the fact that it puts a huge strain on my livelihood and whether I can pay for my car, car insurance, and more. However, the reason I get sad and not angry is because I know that there is nothing I can do regarding getting paid besides wait.
FEAR- Cam & Mitch from Modern Family
For the Fear in my mind, I choose two characters who have to be chosen together because of the way their emotions build off of each others. When I am afraid, I get nervous, worried, and usually have panic attacks. When I thought of how my emotions are when I am fearful, I thought of Cam and Mitch from Modern Family. Their fear is often comical because of their overeactions when in uncomfortable situations. For instance, one episode, Cam and Mitch accidentally locked their daughter Lily in their Prius with the keys in the car. Instead of thinking calmly, Cam and Mitch freak out trying to figure out ways to open the car, to the point where Cam eventually runs at the car with a trashcan. This scene is important to understand my fear because I often overreact when put in scary or even minor situations where I am afraid of the outcome.
ANGER- Gloria Delgado-Prichett from Modern Family
For my anger, there is only one right person, Gloria Delgado-Prichett from Modern Family. While her character is very stereotypical of Latina women, most of it, I relate to. Not only is Gloria a loud person who yells alot, she is also sassy and reactive individual when made mad. She has even shown sides of scheming when in certain situations. It takes alot to make me mad or angry, but when I am, I show alot of these qualities, especially reactiveness. I do believe that much of how I react has stemmed from my family because my father, and his mexican side of the family are all extremely reactive and loud when angry.
DISGUST- Haley Dunphy from Modern Family; Also mentioned: Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl
For my disgust, I originally wanted to choose Blair Waldorf, a character from the tv show Gossip Girl. While many of my qualities for disgust are still similar to Blair’s, there is one big, main difference between me and her, she is absolutely, filthy rich. This reason is why I also relate to Haley Dunphy from Modern Family, she has the same qualities for disgust as I do but she is not as wealthy and over the top as Blair. Haley is disgusted by bugs and spiders, bad taste in clothing, and bad makeup or skin. I am absolutely disgusted by any insect, bug, etc, and am a huge fan of proper skincare to the point where I do get disgusted by pimples or blackheads on my own skin (which is why I never have them because I take good care of my skin). While I relate to both of these women, Haley Dunphy is someone I have related to since I was a little girl when this show came out.
