“Be Kind”
Advice, advice, advice. Words, phrases, and input from others about your own life.
As humans we give and receive this advice from different people all the time. However
when I think of consistency in advice the first person that comes to mind is my mother.
Who would repeat the same phrase to me each morning while I hopped out of the car
at school.
Being the independent person that I am, taking advice from others into my life is quite
hard for me to do. Yet this piece of advice is one that I constantly remind myself of. Human
kindness, something overlooked by many, is such an important aspect in people’s lives.
Whether you are showing or receiving kindness, our brains as humans thrive off goodwill
to or from others.
I like to think I learned the meaning of kindness at a very young age. My mother,
my biggest inspiration in life, has shown kindness in everything she has done since
becoming a mom. She lives and does for others a way I have not seen anyone else
do. Not only did she give this great advice at a young age but she has demonstrated
its true meaning for years on end.
In my life I show kindness through words and acts of service. Doing something or
something for others with good intent is quite beautiful. Like seeing someone’s
reaction to a gift on Christmas morning, the excitement you get when you make others
happy is an irreplaceable feeling. That is what being kind is all about at its core, making
yourself and others happy and living a life filled with light.
