I am From
165
I am from always growing up beside a dog
I am from the numerous home cook meals
From the Wii to old books my mom collected from her childhood
I am from the consent visits of my grandparents
I am from taking road trips to Fresno
From “stay in school” to “do your best”
I am from learning how to ride a bike
I am from the stories on how my grandparents raised my parents
I am from the old pictures in black in white
From the day trips to the extended day trips
I am from the TV remote that seemed to live off of one battery
I am from the music my parents listened
I am from the dusty collection of nintendo consols
I am from the boxes of of DVDs in the garage
From the old baby pictures to the my parents old baby pictures
I am from having now a sibling
I am from now having to slowly becoming an adult
I like how you transitioned from the experiences you had from being a little kid to now. You kept it short and simple for your readers. The line "I am from the TV remote that seemed to live off of one battery," is something I can relate to as well as playing on the Wii! - Esme
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your poem. It was short, yet detailed enough that we now have a better understanding of where you come from. I enjoyed the lines when you talked about your Wii and old Nintendo consoles, as the Wii was a big part of my childhood, and I have some great memories playing it as well. Great Job.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you connected your own experiences in childhood to your parents childhood. I enjoyed the lines that talked about about how you were raised and he colorful words to describe these memories.
