JOY: Naruto Uzumaki
I chose Naruto for my joy because he's mostly happy throughout Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. Always cracking jokes. He looks for validation from people because he's been shunned by his peers his whole life but he's still happy nevertheless. He's very spontaneous and fun. He's normally never sad and if he is he doesn’t show it because he doesn't want people to see/worry about him. He isn't the smartest shinobi but he is the strongest. People thought he wouldn't become Hokage but he proved them wrong and he achieved his goal. I want to achieve my goals and prove people wrong as well and show them what I'm capable of.
SADNESS: Eeyore
I chose Eeyore for my sadness because he's always gloomy and depressed. He usually never smiles, always having a frown. I'm quite certain he represents a mental illness (Depression). When I'm sad I usually don’t talk and want to be left alone so I can relate. I also listen to sad music because we wouldn’t be humans if we didn’t self torture ourselves and listen to our sad playlist when we are sad. He also has low energy.
FEAR: Scooby-doo
I chose Scooby-doo for my fear because when faced with spooky danger he cowers away in fear. He never wants to be a part of the mystery because of how much distress it causes him. He’s shaking all the time with Shaggy. He gets distracted easily and I think that distraction helps him forget what he's doing at the moment (the distraction most of the time is food). He’s always the bait and will only be the bait if offered a Scooby Snack and I think that resonates a lot with me.
ANGER: Donald Duck
I choose Donald Duck for my anger because whenever I'm angry I tend to explode on people just like him. He's always giving attitude and every episode is talking back. He sometimes rants about his frustrations. He's easily provoked. Donald Duck’s anger comes from the fear that no one will understand him and that hits a little too close to home because most people don't understand me and why I do certain things.
DISGUST: Forky
I chose Forky for my disgust because he has very low confidence. He's disgusted with himself and what he is (even though he shouldn't be and everyone reassures him). He thinks he's trash and always wants to go into a trash bin. He's very self conscious and I think I relate a lot to him. He overthinks too which I do a lot of. Woody has to reassure him that he isn't trash countless times in the movie Toy Story 4 but he still doesn't listen because he already thinks/knows he's trash because of what utensil he is (I for one love sporks). He's also made out of plastic which gets thrown into the garbage all the time so I can see why he would think so low about himself.
I thoroughly enjoyed this blog! I agree that Naruto Uzumaki and Eeyore are great representatives of happiness and sadness. Eeyore is one of the first characters I associate with sadness, and agree that his depressed nature creates for a very low energy and gloomy individual. I also liked your choice of Forky for disgust. I thought your explanation and analysis of how Forky's low self esteem causes his disgust and hateful nature was very well in depth and thoroughly elaborated on. Nice blog!
