8- Dayanara M- Gucci Slides Moment

When I was in eighth grade, all I wanted was a pair of Gucci flip flops. To me, Gucci slides were the pinnacle of modern fashion and elegance. Unfortunately, all that elegance comes at the price of $300, which is a little too much for some rubber sandals with a logo. I asked for them for Christmas, my birthday, and even Easter. But still, I never got the shoes. Then in May 2019, I won some sort of award that forgot the name of. It was for academics and I was really proud of myself even though it was just dumb middle school classes. When I got home, my mom gave me a cardboard box and said she had a gift for me. I had no idea what was in the box, if anything it could have been empty but I was just happy to get a gift. When I opened the box, there it was. The tan and black shoe box with "Gucci" in big letters on the front. I quickly opened the box because I just couldn't wait to get my hands on the shoes. When I saw them, I just screamed with excitement. The most expensive piece of clothing I owned, my very own Gucci slides. I didn't let go of those poor shoes for the whole summer. They got scratched, dirty, lost and found again. I haven't worn them in a while because they are not in their best shape after almost three years of use. But to this day, it is the best gift I've ever received and I'm so grateful for it. Word Count- 268

  1. Good post,Dayanara! Gucci slides would be a super amazing gift to receive, I personally have never gotten a present that expensive but I can imagine how excited a middle-schooler would be to get an expensive, popular gift like that:). You put so much humor and detail in your text and I truly enjoyed reading your post!
