Although the fall is unpleasant and oftentimes has negative consequences, it is still important and has value. If we didn’t have this weakness to fall, meaning if we never failed and experienced insurmountable difficulties, we likely wouldn’t have the strength to rise to our best selves. We learn a lot from our failures. Additionally, failure also motivates us to succeed and strive to be our best selves, it gives us that strength and motivation to rise. Like the quote indicates, the weakness to fall and the strength to rise go hand in hand. In my opinion, you can’t have one without the other.
While both the strength to rise and the weakness to fall are present in everybody, we can sometimes feel like we lack the strength to rise. After a particularly disappointing failure, it can feel like you no longer have the strength to rise. I can think of a few failures from my own life where I’ve felt that way. Feeling like there is no way to rise again and recover can definitely drag out the process and make things harder. But at the end of the day, that strength is always there and will eventually show through.
It is important to remember that both the weakness to fall and the strength to rise are part of being human. We need to be aware of both in order to succeed and achieve our goals in life.
