Taylor Alison Swift, a woman of many talents, which she has graced us with for almost 2 decades. Her name shall ring in the ears of those in the generations to come. The influential presence of Taylor and her singer songwriting skills started with her country hits released in 2006. Even though, a country singer at the time, Taylor began dominating the charts across all musical genres, producing her first hit, on her very first album. 

Now thatI have established some background on this wonderful woman, I will now explain just why her music is so timeless, and why I am certain it will stand the test of time.  

` Taylor’s song writing skills are greater than any other in the industry. This is quite a bold statement of me to make, but I have proof. For the last 4 months, I have been writing a new Taylor Swift lyric on the board of my history teacher’s classroom. Each day I am forced to relisten, and dissect Swift's songs to find the most outstanding lyrics of each song, to write down. Her use of metaphors, combined with her extravagant vocabulary, produce such amazing lyrics. 

Taylor has been criticized most of her career for “writing far too many breakup songs”, yet the breakup, and heartbreak songs that Taylor has produced are some of her best. Not only are all of the songs about relationships deeply vulnerable, they allow Swift to connect and sympathize with her audience. One of my favorite lines written by taylor about a relationship is, “you drew stars, around my stars, but now I’m bleeding”, Taylor is able to successfully articulate and express emotions that many of us feel, but aren't sure how to put into words. 

Thus further exemplified in a song Taylor wrote about her self confidence, and awareness, Mirrorball. In this song Taylor refers to herself as a mirrorball, able to “show you every version of yourself”. Her use of imagery is vivid through this song and I have found it to be the most relatable to mi9ne, and other fans' lives. Overall Taylor’s songwriting abilities are undeniable.  

Taylor has proven to stay relevant through the many years that she has spent in the spotlight. Her courage and determination to make strides and create new in the industry is admired by many, and I think it is safe to say that she is one of the best of our time.
