My First Field Trip
It was a cold morning when the day of my field trip arrived. I was wearing a Chip and Dale long sleeve shirt, some baggy pants, and a sweater that was purple which I tied around my waist. We were going to the Planetarium or at least that's what I remember. My mom was driving in her car and I couldn't go with her because I had to write on the bus like every other kid unfortunately. I sat alone at the back of the bus and stared outside the window until we got there. I was ecstatic to get off the bus because I just wanted to hug my mom and feel safe in her arms. I've always been a shy kid and never wanted to make any friends so maybe that's why I can remember most of my days during first grade being alone. It was just me and my mom wandering around the planetarium for hours until it was time to go. Before that though we entered a gift shop and I went straight to the stuffed animals. I found a lizard and I named him Lizzy. He was green and had orange and blue scales. I loved Lizzy, I would take him everywhere with me and when it was time to go I still couldn't go in my moms car so I sat at the back of the bus again holding on to Lizzy until the bus arrived back at the school. My point is it was only Lizzy and I. Lizzy comforted me just like how my mom would. Lizzy was there for me through it all and even though he's a stuffed animal he became like my best friend when I had no one else. I became attached to Lizzy. I am still attached. He is the only stuffed animal that I haven't thrown away because he means so much to me.

Great storytelling. Sometimes, when we are having difficulty making friends and fitting in, small things like stuffed animals can really help us cope. I think it is nice that you still have it, all these years later.
